Kalihi Education Coalition Scholarship Fund, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards that vary in amount. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Kalihi Education Coalition Scholarship Fund was established in 2005 by the Kalihi Education Coalition to benefit graduating high school seniors from Damien School, Farrington High School, Kamehameha - Kapalama School or current college students attending Honolulu Community College. The Hawai'i Community Foundation will give preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing. The donor requires applicants to demonstrate one of the following criteria: (1) Be a graduating high school senior attending a school in the Kalihi-Palama district; (2) Be a college student attending Honolulu Community College; (3) Be a Kalihi-Palama resident (with one of the following zip codes: 96817 or 96819). Applicants must attend an accredited college or university and be an undergraduate or graduate student. Applicants must also demonstrate good moral character and participation in community service projects or activities.
