Description

Each local Kentucky fair (holding events for at least 3 days) is encouraged to submit a scholarship application. It is up to the applicant's fair officials to decide which application should move on to the state competition. Based on completed applications, the state scholarship committee will select two youth from each zone to receive a scholarship. Six awards will be given across the state. Any youth that has participated in and has been an active volunteer at local fair for several years but at least one year may apply for a scholarship. Qualified youth shall be a senior in high school or enrolled in a post-secondary program of studies (college, trade school or military) but not having reached their 21st birthday by October 1st of the applying year. Youth nomination must represent the county of the nominating fair. Each application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the local fair board. Entries may be postmarked or emailed.
