Description

The Monica Abbott Scholarship was established by professional softball player and Olympian Monica Abbott to provide higher education funding for female athletes who embody athletic skills, leadership, and a desire to succeed, and who demonstrate a consistent work ethic in athletics, academics and extracurricular activities. Applicants must be a student athlete who demonstrates a consistent work ethic in athletics, academics and extracurricular activities. Applicants must have played high school softball. One award will be given to a student attending a high school in Salinas; and one award will also be given to a student from Monterey County.
