Monroe Scheflo Memorial & U.S Durum Growers Association Scholarships, with an application deadline in October, offers numerous awards that vary in amount.Description
The Monroe Scheflo Memorial Scholarship was established in 1985 by the U.S. Durum Growers Association in memory of Monroe Scheflo, the Association's President from 1982 to 1984 when he lost his battle with cancer at the age of 43. Monroe Scheflo was raised in Newburg, ND and graduated from high school there. Monroe was an outspoken champion of Durum research, promotion, and export development. The U.S. Durum Growers Association Scholarship fund was established in 2014 to provide financial assistance to students from durum-producing states attending college full-time and pursuing a degree in agriculture. For Monroe Scheflo Memorial Scholarship, preference will be given to students from North Dakota attending college full-time and pursuing a degree in agriculture. For U.S. Durum Growers Association Scholarship, preference will be given to students from durum producing states attending college full-time and pursuing a degree in agriculture.
