Eligibility

National Honor Society Scholarship, with an application deadline in November, offers numerous awards of $25000 each.

Description

Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded millions in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. To be eligible, a student must be a high school senior and/or expecting to receive a high school diploma during the current academic year. They must be an active member in good standing of a National Honor Society chapter, meeting all membership requirements and obligations of the local chapter. Applicants must also be an NHS student account holder, verified by the NHS chapter adviser. They must be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. college or university, military institute, or trade school. International students may apply for the scholarship, but scholarship funds must be used at a U.S. college or university. Applicants must provide detailed information about activities and experiences related to scholarship, service, leadership, and character. They must submit an Adviser Certification from their NHS Adviser, which acts as a short recommendation form and confirms the applicant is currently in good standing with a local NHS chapter. Applicants must also submit a recommendation from one non-adviser, non-family member adult who can speak to the applicant's commitment to the pillars of the NHS. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
