NMU Leadership Scholarships offers 11 awards of $2000 each.

Description

The Leadership Scholarship Program, managed by the Center for Student Enrichment, aims to recognize students with significant leadership experience, a strong academic record, and exceptional leadership potential. The scholarship committee evaluates applicants based on the quantity, quality, and nature of their involvement, progression in leadership responsibility, and overall approach to leadership. Applicants must indicate their interest and provide additional information on the Presidential Scholars Competition registration form. Students may receive the NMU Leadership Scholarships if they participate in the Presidential Scholars Competition, which is designed for students to compete for a limited number of "full-ride" scholarships. Students may participate in the scholarship competition if they have applied and been admitted as a degree-seeking student to NMU for Fall 2026 by the date of the competition for which they will be participating. To apply for the scholarship competition, students must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.50. If a student is in an early college credit program, they are eligible to compete if they are in their final year of high school, have a high school GPA of 3.5, and will be entering college as a degree-seeking student the following year. There will be multiple in-person competition dates. For the November 2-3, 2025, competition, the registration deadline is October 20. For the November 9-10, 2025 competition, the registration deadline is October 27. For the virtual competition on November 16-17, 2025, the registration deadline is November 3.
