Eligibility

R&E Foundation Research Scholar Grant, with an application deadline in January, offers numerous awards of $100000 each.

Description

The R&E Foundation Research Scholar Grant supports junior faculty members who have completed resident and fellowship programs but haven't been recognized as independent investigators. Grant recipients receive up to two years of support, to be used as salary support and to cover research-related expenses. Any area of research related to the radiologic sciences is eligible. Applications should describe the unique nature of the research effort independent of existing research efforts and should have well-defined goals for the funding period of the grant. Greater emphasis on the independent nature of the research will be stressed compared to resident/fellowship research efforts. Projects focused on advancing imaging science, developing or evaluating medical imaging technology, or making innovative use of imaging science to answer important biologic or clinical questions are encouraged. Applicants must be an RSNA Member (at any level) at the time of application, and throughout the duration of funding. Applicants must hold a full-time faculty or equivalent permanent position based on institutional standards in a department of radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine within a North American educational institution at the time of application. Applicants must be within 8 years of initial faculty appointment with an academic rank of instructor or assistant professor, (or equivalent). Applicants must have completed advanced training and be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)/Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or on track for certification. The complete information about the award and the required materials are available on the award's website. Please visit the award's website or contact the Radiological Society of North America for more information.
