Richard L. Townsend Award

Description

The Richard L. Townsend Award will be given to a University of Tennessee, Knoxville student who is deemed by the committee to be the top student entering the Master of Accountancy program. Scholarships are available to TSCPA student members who have completed introductory accounting courses and are planning to sit for the CPA Exam. Applicants must have completed at least three semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting by the end of spring 2026. They must be majoring in accounting, finance or a related field and planning to obtain their CPA designation. Applicants must be attending college during the 2026-2027 school year. They must submit two completed letters of recommendation, one of which must be from an accounting, economics or finance professor from the university the applicant is attending.
