Eligibility

Student Parent Programs - Child Care Subsidy Program, with an application deadline in May, offers numerous awards that vary in amount. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Student Parent Programs - Child Care Subsidy Program is open to undergraduate and graduate student parents through the CCAMPIS and SPP Child Care Tuition Assistance Programs to help defray the cost of child care and help students focus on their educational goals. Eligibility for our subsidies is based on need, determined by several factors, including part-time/full-time status and documented financial need. To qualify for the child care subsidies, students must be caring for a dependent child at least part-time in their custody, and must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at UMass Amherst. Child care expenses can include daycare, pre-k, before and after school programs, and summer child care through EEC-licensed or nationally accredited providers. Some babysitting, home-based non-EEC licensed care, and other informal child care may also qualify for limited funding. Please note that the majority of the funds are restricted by the funding source to licensed or accredited providers only. If you do not have a dependent child, please do not apply for this scholarship. Students may visit the scholarship's website or contact the UMass Amherst Financial Aid Services for more information.
