The ORAFS Carl Bond Memorial Student Scholarship, with an application deadline in December, offers numerous awards of $2000 each.

Description

The Oregon Chapter of the American Fisheries Society offers the Carl Bond Memorial Student Scholarship to honor and continue the legacy of the great Oregon ichthyologist Dr. Carl Bond. This coveted scholarship is awarded to reward and encourage outstanding Oregon AFS student members to support work that emphasizes native Oregon fishes in a fashion consistent with Dr. Bond's legacy. Applicants must be a student member of AFS and the Oregon Chapter. They must be a graduate student in a field of study relevant to fisheries science and are currently conducting research directly related to native Oregon fishes. They must not have previously won this scholarship. Applicants must submit a description of their project, including elements that discuss how the work honors Dr. Bond's legacy. Two letters of recommendation are also required, at least one of which must be from a current Oregon Chapter AFS member.
