The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society is pleased to administer the Trudell Medical Excellence Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a fourth-year medical student in the top 10 percent of their medical school class with intentions to practice in cardiac surgery, otolaryngology surgery, or pediatric oncology. This award is made possible by contributions received from Mr. Gene and Mrs. Cyndee Trudell. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited medical school and be a bona-fide Pennsylvania resident at least 12 months prior to registering as a medical student. If selected, the applicant must obtain an active student membership with the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Applicants must submit two letters from medical school professors indicating the applicant's seriousness of purpose/innate talent within medicine/unique drive that sets this applicant apart from the remaining fourth-year medical students. One letter must reference the specialty for which you intend to pursue. Applicants must also submit a letter confirming their enrollment and academic standing as a 4th-year student at an accredited medical school. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society for more information.
