Eligibility

Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research Post-PhD Research Grant, with an application deadline in May, offers numerous awards of $25000 each.

Description

The Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research Post-PhD Research Grant funds individual research projects undertaken by doctorates in anthropology or a closely related field. The goal is to support vibrant and significant work that furthers our understanding of what it means to be human. There is no preference for any methodology, research location, topic, or subfield. The Foundation particularly welcomes proposals that integrate two or more subfields and pioneer new approaches and ideas. Applicants must be Doctorates in Anthropology, Doctorates in Related Fields, or independent scholars. Qualified scholars of any nationality or institutional affiliation are eligible. Individuals who are within 5 months of receiving their doctorate or equivalent degree may apply, but they must complete their degree before the start date listed on their application form. Applicants will also be asked to provide answers to six questions about the project; a resubmission statement if the applicant's Post-PhD Research Grant application has been previously denied; detailed Plan A budget (Best-case scenario); and detailed Plan B budget (Worst-case scenario). The application portal opens 2 months before the deadline. Applications must be in English. Please visit the award's website for more information.
