Description

The AHNA Media Award is intended for the AHNA to recognize reporters, editors, other media personnel and citizens, websites, and mobile apps that have effectively delivered Holistic Nursing messages to the public. The target audience for the media piece must be the public at large. Nurses, their perspectives, and nursing must be presented accurately and without stereotyping. Nurses must be the sources for the media piece when appropriate. Nurses in the media pieces must be identified as nurses. The story must report on a topic of Holistic Nursing with depth and accuracy. Standards of ethical journalism must have been followed. Consideration will be given to the total audience reached. The piece may have triggered additional media coverage or policy change. The items must have aired or been published within the year between the annual AHNA Conferences. One letter of nomination and support from an AHNA member with documentation of the candidate's media that has effectively delivered a Holistic Nursing message to the public is required. Newspapers, magazines, videos, etc. that feature the nominated media piece(s) must also be submitted. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the American Holistic Nurses' Association for more information.
