AJFL Trade Scholarships, with an application deadline in March, offers 50 awards of $2000 each.

Description

Annually, AJFL awards Trade Scholarships renewable for up to two years upon successful completion of course work that leads to certification in certain skilled trades in the same year as the award even though enrollment may have been the previous year. Scholarships are awarded according to the number of AJFL members in each of the seven national regions. Applicants must have completed a GED or High School Diploma. They must be associated with AJFL by either owning an AJFL insurance policy or, by being the child or grandchild of a current AJFL policyholder. Applicants must have an issued AJFL policy by the end of the previous year. They must be enrolled in course work or received a letter of acceptance from an accredited Trade School to apply. Applicants must also show proof of satisfactory completion of course work and either received certification or that will lead to certification. Trade Scholarships are awarded by chance, not grades. However, successful completion of the coursework is required and proof of completion from the institution is required before awards are paid.
