The Alice Kleeman and Joseph Buttram Impact Scholarship will be awarded to students who might have met some challenges and obstacles on their way to higher education, students with high levels of motivation and potential but low levels of financial resources, students who might be the first in their families to go to college, and students who need a helping hand to make their college dreams attainable. $5,000 per year for two years will be awarded to students at a four-year college and $2,500 per year for two years will be awarded to students at a two-year college. Applicants may be a current graduating high school senior attending any of the following high schools and planning to enroll at a two-year or four-year college the following academic year: Menlo-Atherton High School, Woodside High School, Carlmont High School, Sequoia High School, Redwood High School, TIDE Academy, Canada Middle College, East Palo Alto Academy, Eastside College Prep, Summit Preparatory Charter High School (Redwood City), Summit Everest High School (Redwood City). Applicants may also be a current community college attending any of the following schools and planning to transfer to a four-year university the following academic year: Canada College, College of San Mateo, Skyline College, Foothill College, DeAnza College. Applicants must have work, extracurricular, or volunteer experience and have demonstrated financial need with a Student Aid Index (SAI) of $40,000 or less.
