Description

The Building Future Leaders Scholarship Program For Students of Military Families will be awarded to students who have a parent with an honorable discharge and a DD-214 who served in the Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or in the National Guard or Reserve Component; or parent currently serving with the Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or in the National Guard or Reserve Component. Applicants must have graduated or will graduate from an accredited U.S. high school or High School Equivalency/General Education Diploma Program. Applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted at a nationally or regionally accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school and on a successful graduation track toward a vocational/technical, associate's, bachelor's, or graduate degree. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation. One each from an academic counselor, advisor, faculty member, coach, or community leader. Applicants must also submit certificates from community groups, clubs, and charity organizations for whom they have supported in the past two years. Special consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate leadership or mentoring qualities through participation in their communities' extracurricular or civic activities.
