Council on Approved Student Education Student Scholarship, with an application deadline in September, offers 5 awards of $1500 each.

Description

The Council on Approved Student Education (CASE) Student Scholarship will be awarded to students from NCRA-approved court reporting education programs. The top prize of $1500 is the Sue Shelton White Scholarship, named in honor of Sue Shelton White. White was a feminist leader who served as a national leader of the women's suffrage movement. She also worked as an official court reporter for the Tennessee Supreme Court from 1907 until 1918 and opened her own stenography business. Four additional scholarships are available in the amounts of $250, $500, $750, and $1000. To be eligible to apply for the CASE Student Scholarship, students must hold student membership in NCRA; have attained an exemplary academic record; and have passed one skills test writing 160 words per minute or above at the time of submission. Applicants must submit the speed verification form and recommendation form. Three recommendation forms are required. One recommendation must be from a faculty member or academic advisor. A letter in place of the form will not be accepted, and the application will be considered incomplete. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the National Court Reporters Association for more information.
