Description

The Howard Vincent Kurtz Emerging Theatre Artist Award recognizes student members and seeks to foster their development. It is given annually and provides financial assistance to a student who has been selected to present a brief overview of their research/creative work at the CSA National Symposium. Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student. They must be nominated by a current CSA member. The creative work must be completed or in process prior to submission. Applicants must submit a cover page with their contact information. They must also submit an abstract describing the personal artistic statement of inspiration and challenges of the creative work. Applicants must submit eight clearly labeled images that give a visual overview of the creative work. An additional four images may be submitted for a maximum of twelve images. Two letters of recommendation from faculty advisors or mentors in the student's academic program and/or professional arena are also required. The faculty members may include a design instructor, an instructor or supervisor in a shop or studio, history professor or department chair.
