Ethyl and Armin Wiebke Memorial Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers one award in the amount of $1500.Description
One Ethyl and Armin Wiebke Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to qualified applicants sponsored by WMA members in good standing. To qualify for review, the applicant must satisfy with proof of one of the below criteria: (A) Have served, or serving in the United States Marine Corps or Marine Corps Reserve; (B) or be a direct descendant by blood, legal adoption, or stepchild of a Marine on active duty, or who has served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, Regular or Reserve; (C) or be a sibling, legal adoption, or stepchild of a Marine on active duty, or who has served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, Regular or Reserve; (D) or be a spouse of a Marine; (E) or have completed two years in the Marine Corps JROTC program; (F) or currently active in the Young Marines Program; (G) or be sponsored by a current WMA member in good standing. All applicants must be enrolled as full-time students to be eligible for a WMA Scholarship. Master/PhD applicants are required to take at least six each semester. Copies of course schedules are acceptable. Two professional letters of reference attesting to the applicant's character, attitude, leadership ability, and scholastic participation must be submitted. High school students must include two letters from school personnel. Other acceptable letters of reference may come from employers, military personnel, or anyone who can attest to the applicant's ability to succeed.
