Description

The EWJ Hitchcock Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 2025 to continue The Hitchcock Family's passion for education and giving back to the Salinas Community. Through this scholarship, Elmer's dedication to the Salinas Valley, William's passion for lifelong learning, and Joan's generosity in philanthropy will continue on. The scholarship recipient(s) will be chosen based on the applicant's academic achievements and GPA. Financial need will be considered, but not required. Applicants must be currently enrolled as a Salinas High School senior. They must submit one letter of recommendation from an employer, teacher, coach, or non-family member. The winning student must enroll in an in the California State University (CSU) system or Oregon State University, or an accredited trade school. They must be majoring in Agricultural Business or Agricultural Science, Architecture, Engineering, or Kinesiology by Fall semester after receiving the award.
