First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Graduate Scholarship, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards of $1750 each.

Description

The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Graduate Scholarship will be awarded to those who are members of good standing with the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association for at least three years prior to the date of the scholarship application and hold one of the following policies in his or her own name: a $1,000 minimum permanent life insurance certificate; a $5,000 minimum term certificate; or an annuity certificate. Members currently in Z-Branches from the former Polish Women's Alliance of America (PWAA) are eligible for FCSLA scholarships once they hold, in their own name, an FCSLA issued policy for 3 years prior to the date of the scholarship application. Graduate student applicants must submit their most recent official transcript or university record. Applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation, which is not from a family member. Winners are chosen by a committee of impartial judges from the educational field, based on the following criteria: Academic Standing; Church and/or Community Service; and School Involvement and Essay.
