The Frances Katsuda Bean Waianae High School Scholarship Fund was created in 2016 by Frances Naomi Bean. Being born and raised in Waianae, Frances Bean remembers the significant role that drama and the arts played in her life. The donor requires applicants to be a graduate of Wai'anae High School. Preference will be given to a graduate of Wai'anae High School who has participated in the school's award winning Searider Productions, drama program, or art program.
