Description

The Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship award enables postdoctoral candidates to undertake research of importance to the University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The development of research within University of Newcastle's four engagement priorities is important to the bilateral relationship between the United States and Australia. It is hoped that this award will provide scholars with an opportunity to contribute to this relationship, and the nominated area of priority that is relevant to the future of our regions and the world. This scholarship will support a 4-10-month position. Scholars selected for this award will be required to conduct a research project of the applicant's choosing. Projects are sought in all disciplines. While the University of Newcastle will consider any relevant research proposal, the following four engagement priorities build on the significant track record of success and the strengths of our university, and that reflect the issues and opportunities relevant to the future of our regions and our world: Better, healthier living; Connected communities; Next generation resources; and Growing industries. Applicants must be Early Career Academics. Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) is required. This scholarship is open to applicants whose Ph.D. conferral date is January 2022 or later; those with more recently conferred degrees preferred. Applicants must attain their doctorate by the proposed start date of their grant. The application also requires two recommendations.
