Eligibility

Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Scholar Award (All Disciplines), with an application deadline in September, offers 2 awards of $8300 each.

Description

The Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Scholar (All Disciplines) award aims to reinforce collaborative research between the United States and France in all fields of study. Grantees are invited as guest teachers and researchers at a French host university, where they have the opportunity to meet with French colleagues, to organize and participate in conferences, and to interact with French graduate and doctoral students in their area of expertise. It is expected that grantees will show an interest in developing or strengthening long-lasting ties with the host institution. Applicants may propose an appropriate host. Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) is required. Applicants must be mid-career academics or senior academics. Candidates should hold the rank of associate or full professor and have at least five years of teaching experience. There is no language requirement, English is sufficient. However, feasibility of conducting the project must be demonstrated in the project statement. The application also requires two recommendations. Please visit the award's website or contact the Council for International Exchange of Scholars for more information.
