Arizona Thespians Ovation Scholarship, with an application deadline in December, offers numerous awards of $1500 each.

Description

The Arizona Thespians Ovation Scholarship is available to any student intending to major in theatre. This scholarship requires an audition for consideration. In order to be eligible to audition, applicants must attend a scholarship workshop on October 1st or October 15th. Applicants must be a graduating high school student. They must be an inducted Thespian at the time of auditions. Only three Thespians per school are allowed to audition. Applicants must intend to major in theatre, minors in theatre are not eligible. Students may audition in only one of the following areas: (A) Vocal: Prepare two contrasting 45-second song selections, or a contrasting 45-second vocal selection and 45-second monologue selection. (B) Acting: Prepare two contrasting 45-second monologue selections. (C) Technical: Prepare a three to five-minute portfolio presentation. (D) Performer Slate: Submit the name, title of pieces, show titles, and names of playwrights and composers. (E) Technical Slate: Submit the name, technical area of presentation, and show title.
