Germany Residency Program in American History, with an application deadline in October, offers numerous awards that vary in amount.

Description

Thanks to a generous grant from the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, the OAH sponsors the Germany Residency Program in American History at the University of Tubingen in 2026. Tubingen is located in central Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, south of Stuttgart. It is home to one of Europe's oldest universities. Applications are invited from OAH members who are established scholars affiliated with an American or Canadian university interested in leading an advanced undergraduate or graduate student seminar in Tubingen. The course will take place over a period of 4 to 5 weeks during the summer. The Residency Program will provide round-trip airfare (economy class), housing in Tubingen for 4-5 weeks, a modest honorarium, and office space. Application materials must be sent as a PDF, with "Germany Residency Program" in the subject line. Please visit the award's website or contact the Organization of American Historians for more information.
