Description

The Gerrit R. Ludwig Scholarship Fund was established for the benefit of high school graduates from East Hawai'i (Honoka'a to Ka'u). Dr. Gerrit Ludwig was an ophthalmologist in Hilo with a love for fine arts and classics. He set up this fund to support students from East Hawai'i studying in these fields. Applicants must be a graduate of an East Hawai'i public high school. They must pursue a Bachelor's or Graduate's degree and attend an accredited, four-year institution within the US, including US territories. Applicants must major in a degree in fine arts or classics, including or closely related to: theatre/performing arts; ceramics/sculpture; literature/writing; art; painting; dance; drawing; music; photography; and/or philosophy. Applicants must submit the financial aid letter from their college to verify the final award amount.
