IRSS Outstanding Graduate Student Award, with an application deadline in December, offers numerous awards of $500 each.

Description

The Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section (IRSS) of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) is now accepting applications for the Outstanding Graduate Student Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding contributions of graduate students in the area of inhalation or respiratory toxicology. The applicant must be a current graduate student. Submission of an abstract to the SOT Annual meeting is also required. Applications will be reviewed for scientific merit and service will be considered for this award. Applicants for the Outstanding Graduate Student Award must be members of the Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section. Applicants must submit a copy of the pending abstract for platform or poster presentation for presentation at the SOT Annual Meeting. A letter of support from the student advisor or major professor is also required. This letter should highlight the applicant's contributions to the research being presented, the applicant's overall scientific achievement and contribution to respiratory/inhalation toxicology, and a description of their leadership and service activities (examples include elected/appointed leadership positions, service within institution or community, teaching/mentoring activities). Additionally, the letter should provide details on the applicant's collaborative efforts and initiative. Please visit the award's website for more information.
