Description

The Jules M. Rothstein Golden Pen Award for Scientific Writing recognizes a member who has demonstrated superior writing skills in one or more articles published in PTJ: Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Journal, and who has collaborated with or encouraged others to make similar contributions to PTJ. Nominees must be physical therapists who are current members in good standing of the association. Nominees for this award must demonstrate a significant contribution to health care by writing in the areas of theory, practice, basic or clinical research, education, or administration; publication in at least two different health care professional journals or contribution to at least two books, monographs, or proceedings from scientific meetings; expertise of subject matter, innovation of ideas, and clarity of expression in their scientific writing; and superior writing skill in one or more articles published in PTJ: Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Journal. The writing excellence may be reflected in one particularly unique, classical contribution or in a series of articles designed to develop further knowledge within a content area or conceptualization. Nominees must also demonstrate collaboration with or encouragement of others to make similar contributions or contributions of outstanding leadership and efforts in initiating activities to improve Physical Therapy. Nomination or self-nomination statement must be submitted to begin the process. Then, the nominee must submit their current curriculum vitae or resume; online application; and one electronic copy of an article written by the nominee that has been published in PTJ: Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Journal and that best reflects the criteria for the award.
