Description

The Kay F. Fullwood Northeast Florida Geriatric Nursing Scholarship Fund may be awarded to a nursing student who resides within the Northeast Florida area (Nassau, Duval, Baker, Clay, and Bradford Counties) and is currently enrolled in an accredited graduate program of study in nursing with a focus on geriatrics; or a practicing Geriatric NP currently enrolled in an accredited DNP program of study and who seeks to focus in the care of older adults; or a practicing Geriatric Nurse requesting financial assistance for presentation of geriatric studies or research, or attendance at a nursing conference with a geriatric focus. Applicants must be licensed in the state of Florida. Applicants must have completed at least one semester in the current nursing program by the scholarship application deadline. Applicants must be enrolled in a nationally accredited nursing program, either through ACeN or CCNe accreditation. Applicants must have resided in Florida for at least one year and must reside in Florida throughout the term of the scholarship. Two letters of reference are required. It must be from individuals who can address the applicant's academic aptitude, scholarship, seriousness of purpose, and/or their clinical expertise. The transcript must be mailed directly from the applicant's school or in an envelope signed and sealed by a school official. It is not included in the online application. Applicants must submit a validation of their Florida residency. They must upload a copy of their current driver's license or voter registration card. If issued within the past year, applicants must provide other proof of residency. Contact FNA for additional acceptable proofs of residency.
