Description

The Kylie Murray Memorial Women in Aviation International Scholarship was created by the Murray family in memory of Kylie Murray and to honor her love of aviation. The intent is to award one scholarship for flight training for Commercial Multi-Engine Land (C-MEL) or Certified Flight Instructor - Multi-Engine (MEI) certification. This scholarship is provided in partnership with the ATP Flight School. The recipient must meet the requirements outlined below and may choose at their discretion either a 5-day, 10-hour or 7-day, 15-hour training program at any of ATP's multi-engine locations. Travel, lodging, or examiner's fees are not included in the program cost. This fund may be used only to award scholarships that pay for flight training fees. The fund may not be used for any other purpose. Applicants must hold a current FAA Medical Certificate and hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating. They must also be Instrument Current and Instrument Proficient. Applicants applying for a scholarship for Fight Instructor - multi-engine (MEI) must hold a current Flight Instructor Certificate. Applicants must be a student-athlete as demonstrated by activity in high school, college, or post-graduate (i.e., adult club) athletics. This can be addressed in the required essay. All applicants must be current WAI members with an expiration date of March 30, 2026 or later. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation. Letters should not be from family members.
