The Latinos in Technology Scholarship is funded by The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley (HFSV) who is dedicated to empowering the lives and futures of Latinos in Silicon Valley through community philanthropy, investment in educational excellence, leadership development, and the convening and engaging of the region's dynamic Hispanic community. The scholarship will financially support undergraduate Latino students who have declared a major in a STEM-related field, renewable for up to 3 years; give scholars the opportunity to participate in programs such as the Conexiones Mentorship Program, STEM company tours, workshops, networking events, and other career prep and professional skill building workshops to prepare them for a successful transition into the STEM workforce; and help scholars get into summer internship programs with investors and corporate partners, bridging the gap between education and employment. Applicants must be of Latino or Hispanic origin. Applicants must also be current college students at a 4-year undergraduate college or university in the upcoming academic school year. Current community college students transferring to a 4-year undergraduate college or university in the upcoming academic school year are also eligible to apply. Applicants may be graduates of a high school in the following Northern California counties: Alameda County, Contra Costa County, Marin County, Napa County, San Francisco County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz County, Solano County, Sonoma County and Yolo County; or graduates of a high school not in the aforementioned counties, but enrolled at a college or university within the 11 listed counties.
