The Martin Frank Travel Award is designed to broaden participation of those pursuing professional careers in physiological sciences. The award is intended to increase participation in and networking at scientific meetings among trainees and early-career faculty who are either the first person in their family to receive a baccalaureate degree or come from an economically disadvantaged background. Specifically, the program provides travel awards to attend the Comparative Physiology Conference. Applicants should register for the meeting at the early registration rate. Applicants can only receive this award twice for the duration of their career. The award is open to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career faculty (recently transitioned; within 5 years of receiving a PhD) level. Applicants must also be individuals who are either the first person in their family to earn a baccalaureate degree or come from an economically disadvantaged background. People from all racial and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be attending or conducting research within U.S. institutions.
