The Michael Cernea Resettlement Fund offers a travel award to a student interested in displacement and resettlement to attend the SfAA Annual Meeting. This award encourages approaches to resettlement that actively involve displaced populations, including in the context of development projects and processes such as gentrification and climate-related hazards and disasters, fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities and impacts of resettlement. Applicants must have been enrolled as a student during part of the current year. They must have an accepted paper abstract focused on displacement and resettlement as articulated in the award description for the SfAA Annual Meeting program (poster presentations are not eligible). Please visit the award's website or contact the Society for Applied Anthropology for more information.
