Description

The National Association of Black Journalists - Visual Task Force (VTF) is a volunteer-led community of Black visual journalists whose goal is to enhance the professional development of new and experienced members, while providing engaging mentorship. VTF is a safe and culturally informed community for visual journalists that is inclusive of all disciplines of visual storytelling. They continue to build upon the strong legacy of Black visual journalists who embody the ethics of quality journalism through conventional workshops and networking opportunities. Applications from students with a genuine passion for visual journalism are welcomed. Qualified candidates will be chosen based on the quality of their portfolio work and their demonstrated commitment to academic excellence. Applicants must be a current NABJ student member in good standing. Eligible applicants include high school juniors, seniors, and college undergraduates or graduate students with at least one full academic year remaining at an accredited U.S. college or university. At least 3 samples of the applicant's work are required. Applicants may submit up to 5 samples. Three references are also required.
