Description

Percy Conrad was a longtime resident of Cordova, Alaska. He established this scholarship to benefit the community that welcomed him when he first arrived. Percy's idea of Marine Biology is not limited to the study and development of the ocean for commercial and personal purposes, but includes the rivers and streams running into it. He recognizes a need to protect, preserve, and renew fresh water features for commercial and personal use. The Percy and Laura Conrad Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students who must be graduating seniors from Cordova High School, Cordova, AK. They must continue their education at an accredited college or university during the upcoming school year. Preference will be given to students attending the University of Alaska or the University of Washington.
