Description

Ralph (Jake) and Clara Betcher lived and farmed in the Withrow area. They didn't have a chance for an education but were always supportive of education for their children. The Betchers were the inspiration for establishing this scholarship. The committee's intention is that the Ralph and Clara Betcher Scholarship will support current high school senior students or recent graduates from Waterville and Mansfield High Schools in their studies at vocational, technical, or trade schools or at a community college studying a trade or skill. Ideally this will make it possible for a student with financial needs to be able to receive training which will help them to be better employed.
