Robert W. Thunen Memorial Scholarship, with an application deadline in April, offers numerous awards of $5000 each.

Description

The Robert W. Thunen Scholarship was established to honor the memory of the late Robert W. Thunen, who was instrumental in many northern California education programs as well as a regional engineer with a territory across several counties in Northern California, Nevada, Oregon or Washington. The scholarship will support the educational interests of an upper-level undergraduate or a graduate student undertaking a lighting-centered project as part of their studies. Fields related to lighting are architecture, electrical engineering, interior design, theater, film/TV, lighting design, vision or a field clearly related to lighting. Special consideration will be given for specific projects or Grad students working toward a thesis about light or lighting. Students must be enrolled in school in northern California, northern Nevada, Oregon or Washington state. At least three letters of recommendation must be submitted, at least one of which shall be from someone involved with lighting professionally or academically.
