Eligibility

Southern Coal Providers Association (SCPA) Scholarship, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards that vary in amount. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Southern Coal Providers Association (SCPA) Scholarship will be awarded to students in any college or university. Employees, previous employees, or family members of a (current or previous) coal industry employee within Southern WV are eligible. Qualifications for employment include working for a company engaged in the mining and processing of coal and located within the following West Virginia counties: Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Putnam, Raleigh, Randolph, Roane, Summers, Wayne, Webster, and Wyoming. Applicants must submit their most recent grades. They do not have to be the official transcripts.
