Ted and Nora Anderson Scholarships, with an application deadline in February, offers 4 awards of $500 each. Military service requirements apply. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Ted and Nora Anderson Scholarship will be awarded to assist financially in the education of needy and worthy children of American Legion members and/or such children of American Legion Auxiliary members of the Department of Kansas. Applicants must be an average or better student scholastically. Only high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores who are enrolled or intend to enroll in an approved college or institution will be considered. Applicants must be the son or daughter of a veteran; the parent(s) must have been a member of The Kansas American Legion and/or Kansas American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years. Applicants may also be the son or daughter of a deceased member whose membership was paid up in The American Legion and/or Auxiliary in the year of death. The applicant's major field of study will be a factor in the final selection. Please indicate your major field of study. Three letters of recommendation are required, only one must be from a teacher. Applications must be received in the American Legion Department of Kansas headquarters. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
