The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant offers numerous awards of $14447 each.Description
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation will only fund young artists who are pursuing their studies or are in the early stage of their career, are working in a representational style of painting, drawing, sculpture or printmaking, and demonstrate the determination and talent to pursue a lifetime career in their art practice. The Foundation does not provide funding for the pursuit of abstract or non-objective art. Applicants must work within a representational style of painting, drawing, sculpture, or printmaking. No other artistic activities or disciplines are funded. Eligible courses of study or training include undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate studies and diploma programs in fine arts or studio arts from accredited institutions, recognized residencies, apprenticeships or internships, and studio training. Those who are in the early stage of their career, either as a student or as an emerging artist in the process of launching their career, may also apply. Grants are not intended as work or project grants for more experienced or mature artists. The Foundation has no geographic, citizenship or residency requirements; its grants are available to eligible applicants from around the world. Images of six representative works produced in the two years immediately preceding the date of the application are required. These must be original works produced by the applicant alone. Description of the proposed work, project or course of study or training that the applicant intends to undertake must also be submitted. A letter of reference from a teacher or professor, an artist or curator who is familiar with both the applicant and the applicant's work and is able to support the applicant's application is also required. All documents and material must be submitted in French or in English. Documents or material in another language must be provided in their original language, along with a French translation. An official translation of certain documents is required; these include all documents relating to the applicant's proof of identity, proof of acceptance to a program of study or training, where required, and the letter of reference. There are four application cycles per year: January 8-March 22; April 1-June 21; July 1-September 20; and October 1-December 13. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
