William and Lucille Ash Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers numerous awards that vary in amount. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The William and Lucille Ash Scholarship will be awarded to those who have resided in San Diego County for at least one year. They must be adult re-entry students (age 25 or older) or former foster youth. Applicants must plan to enroll at an accredited four-year university, community college or licensed career/technical school in the United States in fall. Preference may be given to students attending a school in California. Applicants must also be currently employed (minimum part-time). They must have a commitment to the community as demonstrated by involvement in extra-curricular activities, community/church service or work experience. Applicants must submit a letter from their current employer on official letterhead verifying employment, including position held and length of employment. If the applicant is a current foster youth and they are awarded, they will need to provide documentation of current or former foster youth status after being selected as a scholarship recipient. Acceptable forms of documentation include IEP, letter from ILS worker, CASA, other foster youth serving organization, or medical paperwork since the age 13 or later.
