Acacio "Roger" Rodrigues Memorial Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers numerous awards of $2000 each. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

Established by the Rodrigues family, in memory of Acacio "Roger" Rodrigues, scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate who reside in eligible counties in New York and Connecticut and who plan to study in a field which will lead to a career in the building/construction industry. These fields include but are not limited to engineering, construction management, electrical construction technology, plumbing and heating, welding and fabrication, etc. The scholarships will be awarded to individuals who are or will be students at any accredited vocational school, college or university in the United States. Applicants must submit a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information, which they will receive when they complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants must also submit two current letters of recommendation from teachers or guidance counselors, clergy or persons other than family members who are familiar with the applicant's skills and abilities. These letters must have been written within the last six months. The scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years. In order to continue receiving this scholarship in subsequent years, students must provide the Foundation with a copy of their school transcript to verify their eligibility to continue with the scholarship and a copy of their tuition bill for the fall semester to verify their continued attendance at their college.
