The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior toward an accredited higher education program. The scholarship will be presented to the winner at the NJVVM 2025 Memorial Day Ceremony. Applicants must have a family member who is an active-duty service member or veteran. The graduating high school senior must have visited the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Students interested in applying for the scholarship should send an email to Ralph Mavis, MA Curator and Historian Vietnam Veteran. They must include the following information: student name, relation who is an active-duty service member or veteran, date and time they plan to visit the Memorial, number of guests accompanying them, and the high school they attend (name of their history teacher, if possible). The Alice Waldron Endowed Scholarship is available to a full-time undergraduate student who demonstrates academic achievement with a minimum high school grade point average of 3.2 as an entering freshman or a 3.3 GPA as a continuing undergraduate student, financial hardship, not necessarily as defined by the federal government, community involvement for the betterment of William Paterson University, and who is from the city of Paterson, New Jersey. Incoming students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for this scholarship. Academic performance is reviewed each semester, and students who do not satisfy the criteria for the renewal of their scholarship award are notified in writing. The John Lepping Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to qualified students seeking to further their education by attending college. John Lepping was extremely proud of disabled students who mustered the courage and determination to finish their college education despite their setbacks. This scholarship will help to deter the costs of college for disabled individuals who may not have the resources due to overwhelming medical costs. eligibility includes, but not limited to physical conditions (spinal cord injury, loss of limb, birth defects, etc.) and psychological conditions (autism, post- traumatic stress etc.). Scholarship recipients must be able to provide proof of disability with a letter of confirmation by a physician. Proof is required after award notification. This scholarship will recognize a Ball State University upperclassman who has immersed themself in the life and culture of Ball State. The recipient will be a junior or senior whose primary residence is in Indiana or New Jersey. Students who have been involved with the Ball State Alumni Association and/or the Ball State Foundation through work or volunteer opportunities will be given the highest consideration. The Greater Philadelphia Law Library Association awards scholarships to promising library students pursuing a career in law librarianship. Applicants must be a student accepted to and/or registered at an ALA-accredited library school who will continue as a student for at least another semester or quarter. Applicants must reside within the geographic area covered by GPLLA. The geographic area covered by GPLLA comprises Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Preference will be given to applicants residing in the Tri-State area, generally understood to encompass the area of Pennsylvania east of the Susquehanna River, the area of New Jersey south of and including Trenton, and all of Delaware. At least one letter of recommendation is required, letters from current or former teachers and employers are preferred. The Fraternalist of the Year Award is an honor presented by the New Jersey-New York Fraternal Alliance to recognize an individual within the fraternal benefit system who, through example and accomplishment, provides outstanding volunteer service. The nominee must be a member of a local lodge or council of a NJ-NY Fraternal Alliance member-society and must be living at the time of selection. Officers of member societies and fraternal leaders within the Alliance are not eligible to receive the award. An individual can win the award only once. Applicants must be a resident of New Jersey or New York. Each society is encouraged to sponsor the program within their local lodges and councils. It is suggested that the contest within each society be coordinated and promoted by the fraternal director. Each member-society is eligible to submit one nomination per year.
