New Jersey scholarships: Free money for NJ students

The Fraternalist of the Year Award is an honor presented by the New Jersey-New York Fraternal Alliance to recognize an individual within the fraternal benefit system who, through example and accomplishment, provides outstanding volunteer service. The nominee must be a member of a local lodge or council of a NJ-NY Fraternal Alliance member-society and must be living at the time of selection. Officers of member societies and fraternal leaders within the Alliance are not eligible to receive the award. An individual can win the award only once. Applicants must be a resident of New Jersey or New York. Each society is encouraged to sponsor the program within their local lodges and councils. It is suggested that the contest within each society be coordinated and promoted by the fraternal director. Each member-society is eligible to submit one nomination per year. The Region 4 Dr. Barbara Wright Scholarship will be awarded to a registered nurse who is a NJSNA Region 4 member (minimum of one year) and/or a nursing student who lives in Region 4 and is enrolled in a nursing education program at one of the following levels: Entry Level RN (Diploma, Associates, or Baccalaureate); RN to BSN; Master's in Nursing; Post Master's; and Doctorate in Nursing. Applicants must have current membership in NJSNA Region 4. Applicants enrolled in a pre-licensure entry level program are exempt; however, they must reside in Region 4 or be enrolled in a Nursing Program located in Region 4 (Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset, or Bucks PA Counties). Applicants must submit two letters of reference that address their academic achievement or potential. Fox Pest Control believes in investing in future leaders who are dedicated to making a difference in their communities. That's why they created the Fox Pest Control Future Leaders Scholarship to support students who demonstrate leadership, commitment to their communities, and a passion for growth. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must be current college students currently enrolled in a four-year or two-year program, taking a minimum of twelve credit hours; or students have been accepted to a four-year or two-year program for the Spring 2026 semester. The NJCPA Scholarship Fund awards one-year scholarships to college-bound New Jersey high school seniors intending to major in accounting or obtain a concentration in accounting which includes not less than 24 accounting credits. Applicants must be attending a New Jersey public, parochial/private or home school high school. They must have a cumulative three-year GPA of 3.2 or above, or a minimum total SAT score (combined evidence-based reading and writing plus math) of 1260, or a minimum composite ACT score of 26. School transcripts and test scores should be submitted via mail, email or fax. A screenshot of test scores is acceptable. Applicants must be planning to enter a U.S. college or university in the upcoming fall semester. Students planning to attend a two-year college must submit a letter of intent signed by the student and a parent or legal guardian indicating that the student intends to obtain a four-year degree as an accounting major or obtain a concentration in accounting which includes not less than 24 accounting credits at a four-year college or university after completing studies at the two-year college. The James Cothran, KD3NI, Scholarship will be awarded to those with any active Amateur Radio License Class. Applicants must be residents of the Atlantic Division, the Roanoke Division, the Southeastern Division or Washington, D.C. Applicants may be pursuing any field of study in any institution. The East Coast Amateur Radio Service (ECARS) Scholarship will be awarded to those with active Technician Class or higher. Applicants must reside in the general coverage areas of ECARS including ARRL Atlantic, Great Lakes, Hudson, New England, and Roanoke Divisions. Applicants must be pursuing their studies at a two-year trade school or 4-year undergraduate institution. Applicants should generally be between the ages of 17 and 25 at the time of the award, but older applicants retraining in a changing job market will be considered. Applicants must submit transcripts which must cover the applicant's entire high school career to date and, if in college, must include all semesters for which grades have been awarded. The Yankee Clipper Contest Club Youth Scholarship will be awarded to those with an active General Class License or higher. Applicants must have residence and college or university attendance within 175 miles of YCCC center which is in Erving, MA. MA, RI, CT and Long Island, NY, most of VT and NH, portions of ME, eastern NY and northeastern sections of PA and NJ. Applicants must be pursuing a 2-year or 4-year program at an accredited college or university. The recipient must be 22 years or younger as of June 1 of the year of the grant. Applicants must submit transcripts which must cover the applicant's entire high school career to date and, if in college, must include all semesters for which grades have been awarded. The NJCPA Scholarship Fund provides one-year college scholarships to accounting students who are currently in their second year at a community college, sophomore or junior year or in their senior year and entering an accounting-related graduate program. The scholarship award amount for sophomores is $2,000 and the scholarship award amount for the junior and senior awards is $6,500. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, an essay, and personal interview. All finalists will be notified. Finalists are required to participate in a short virtual interview. The Valerie E. Yahn Endowment Scholarship aims to provide an annual scholarship to a deserving high school graduating senior intending to pursue a nursing (BSN) degree at a college or university. Applicants must have attended a New Jersey high school and have been a New Jersey resident of one of the eligible five counties. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award. Preference will be given to applicants who have never been awarded the scholarship in the past. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, passion for nursing, and strength of character. Applicants must submit a cover letter addressed to the IFN Scholarship Committee. The letter should state purpose for submission and contain brief biographical (background) information. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation from the applicant's choice of high school teachers, administrators, counselors, employers, or individuals with significant knowledge of applicant's experience, character, and involvement.
