Scholarships for environmental science majors

All students who apply for financial aid will be reviewed for awards offered through the College Foundation based on academic merit as well as financial need. Students interested in receiving financial assistance, except for graduate assistantships, graduate tuition scholarships, graduate fellowships, and merit-based scholarships, must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Dani Elenga Environment Scholarship supports students with an interest in the environment who are participating in the Educational Opportunity Program, which promotes academic success and graduation for under-represented ethnic minority, economically disadvantaged, and first-generation college students at UW. This scholarship is available to undergraduate students in all College of the Environment degree-granting programs who are affiliated with the Educational Opportunity Program. Students who have an idea that could change the future of solar energy are being invited by A1 SolarStore to apply for the A1 SolarStore Scholarship. Students must pitch a product, campaign, or solution involving solar energy that would help reduce emissions or raise awareness about climate change in their generation. The scholarship will support college students whose major or academic focus is connected to solving environmental challenges or advancing clean energy. A1 SolarStore will provide an award to the scholarship winners' institutions as tuition after receiving proof of enrollment. This scholarship is only open to students currently enrolled at U.S.-based institutions. Applicants must shoot a 90-second video pitch. The Robert D., W8ST, and Donna J., W9DJS, Streeter Scholarship will be awarded to those with any active Amateur Radio License Class. Applicants may be residents of any region. Applicants must be pursuing their students in horticulture and/or environmental sciences in any institution. The Mann Lake Beekeeping Scholarship will be awarded to college students who aspire to be outstanding and extraordinary. Applicants must be academically excellent students who are in pursuit of better education and currently or about to be enrolled in any apiology program, majoring in agriculture and environmental sciences, and other related studies in an accredited U.S. college or university. Applicants must be a legal resident of the United States or hold a valid student visa. The Garden Club of America Award in Coastal Wetlands Studies aims to promote, expand and enrich the body of research concerning the coast by actively supporting graduate students in the field of coastal wetlands science. Applicants must be pursuing advanced degrees in coastal wetlands science. The field-based study must be in coastal wetlands in the U.S., defined as tidal or nontidal wetlands within the coastal states, including the Great Lake states. Applicants must be either a US citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. Applicants must submit the Project Information, their Vita, and Letters of Endorsement via email as a word document or PDF. The Project Information must include the Statement of Work; What portions of work have already been completed (if any); How the study benefits coastal wetlands; How funds would be used; and Plans or opportunities for sharing research results with a larger audience. Applicants must also submit letters of endorsement from their Major Professor or Advisor. The advisor should email this letter directly to the GCA Award Committee by January 10 with the name of the applicant and GCA reference letter" in the subject line. The letter should identify the student; indicate the status of the student in the graduate degree program; and evaluate the student's ability as an independent researcher. Selection criteria is based on the technical merit of proposed work, and degree to which the work is relevant to the Garden Club objective of promoting wetlands conservation.
